Basic Instinct

So, Basic Instinct. I'm trying to do the thing where I watch all the movies that I think I should have watched by now, but haven't. Last night, Kara and I watched Basic Instinct. It was awful. Apologies to all the fans, but this movie was just terrible.

The acting is atrocious, the music is disjointed, the plot is all over the place, and and I predicted the ending about 5 minutes in.

As the movie was ending, I said to Kara, "I have to blog about this." Kara looks at me and says, "Umm... 16 years later?"

Exactly.

Awful.

This must be the one with the ice pick. Fatal Attraction is good one in that genre. I hate the bunny part.

I never got it... personally I thought Anne Archer was hotter than Glenn Close...

I'm pretty sure the big deal wasn't that it was a phenomenal movie... It was just the whole wild sex thing.

Plus it had "Newman."

I actually do the same basic thing. I have Netflix and regularly add "classic" movies I've never seen.

True. It was pretty racy, even by today's standards. But still truly awful!

Newman was a total buzz kill.
